You do not have to visit the bank or ATM with your passbook and debit card for that. A debit card and an ATM card are same. Next time when you lose your ATM card, just call the call centre and make a request to block the card instead of panicking. The agents at the call centre will provide you with a docket number. Note it down, as it will come handy in your further communication with the call centre or the branch of the bank.

If you cannot establish contact with the call centre because of some technical reasons then you can just visit your nearest SBI branch to block the card. It would be better to inform them by phone about the loss of card at the earliest before visiting. Later, you can hand over your written application requesting to block the card. You can check with the call centre about the status of your application a few days after. Apart from this, the SBI call centre will provide details of the status of your complaints, applications and offers guidelines to use the SBI ATM.
